What is A Tool Room Vise?

A tool room vise is a workholding device designed to be mounted on small machining tables (like those found in tool rooms). The Kurt KTR35 is an extremely versatile tool room vise that can fit even the smallest spaces. Measuring just 10.125” in total length, and weighing only 20 lbs., the KTR25 can provide up to 4,500 lbs. of clamping force, with up to 45 ft-lbs. of torque.
This tool room vise can be mounted on all three available faces. Special mounting keys are available for flush mounting via through-body holes; outrigger clamping kits (3/8” and 1/2”) can be used to mount the vise from the ends of its body (machined-in cavities allow for fast and easy installation). Our toe clamping kit makes it easy to mount the KTR35 on its side.
Maximum jaw opening is 3.81” on the bed, and 4.06” in the step jaw.

What is A Sine Vise?

A sine vise is a workholding device that uses gauge blocks to provide a highly accurate work angle for machining operations. The Kurt KTR35 tool room vise can quickly and easily be transformed into a sine vise with the addition of a receiver vise.
As a sine vise, the KTR35 can be set at 30°, 45°, or 60° work angles; mounting holes are machined into the sides of the vise body on the stationary side. To utilize the sine vise feature, simple remove the KTR35’s triangular magnets and place the dowel pins into the proper holes for the angle you require.
This is an optional feature and we recommend calling the factory for pricing and availability. Order a KTR35 tool room vise/sine vise for your application, or contact Kurt Workholding to learn more.
