4' & 6" HDL Manual Vises (Metric)

Vises are a widely used option for machine workholding applications and are used to hold parts securely as they are machined. Manual vises are suitable for many machining applications and operate by manually turning a handle to open and close the moveable jaws. Workpieces are held in place by closing the jaw to secure the piece against a stationary jaw to clamp the item in place.
Manually operated vises are best suitable for machining applications that involve slower cycle times or those that don’t require the use of multiple vises to secure a workpiece. When choosing the right vise for your application, you need to consider: machine speed, cycle time, material type and size, quantity of products being produced, and other production factors.
Kurt’s Workholding Selection Guide has everything you need to choose the best vise for your application.

HDL Manual Vises Are an Effective Workholding Solution

Kurt Workholding offers 4” and 6” HDL manual metric vises that are high density and compact for maximum workholding across a wide range of machining centers. Our high-density HDL manual vises with metric threads feature a stationary center jaw block and double clamping stations for versatility and can be used with parts that are the same or dissimilar in size.
Using manual vises with double clamping stations provide better spindle utilization and can help reduce tool change time for a more efficient operation. Our HDL manual vises also help neutralize bending pressure placed against the center of the vise and are suitable for work with large and small parts and applications involving high precision machining.

4” and 6” HDL Manual Vise Features

  • Multiple jaw options
  • Durable 80,000 PSI ductile iron body with steel components
  • Double clamping stations with repeatable clamping to 0.0002”
  • Maximum clamping force of 5,870lbs (4” vises) and 7,460lbs (6” vises)
  • Pre-loading front and back jaws

HDL Manual Vise Jaw Options

Our 4” and 6” HDL manual vises feature quick-change jaws in various cast, aluminum and hard options to deliver a high-density vise based on your application requirements.  Kurt Workholding’s quick-change jaws have fewer components and help save time by allowing for faster changeovers. Choose from:
  • Machinable aluminum or ductile iron jaws
  • Aluminum fixture plate
  • Hard jaws

HDL Manual Vise Machinery Capabilities

Our 4” and 6” HDL manual vises are suitable for a variety of machining applications.

4” & 6” HDL Manual Vises

  • CNC Horizontal and Vertical Machining
  • Pallet Changes for VMC’s
  • Manual Mills

The manually actuated HDL AngLock® Vises are high density long vises with two clamping stations. They provide repeatable clamping to 0.0002 inch. They combine high density with heavy duty features. Designed on a rugged 80,000 PSI ductile iron body with steel components, both models provide strength, rigidity and long-term accuracy while absorbing machining vibration.
