4" & 6" HDHL Hydraulic Vises (English)

Hydraulic vises are viewed as a durable, versatile and economic workholding solution and are used by several industries various applications. High density hydraulic vises hold workpieces in place as they are machined and are used in horizonal and vertical configurations, depending on the application. They provide consistent and repeatable clamping pressures and are suitable for machining that requires single or multiple vise stations.

Hydraulic vises are ideal for larger machining centers and are typically used when manufacturing large runs of an identical product. They are operated by a hydraulic pump that moves the jaws into position until the workpiece is held securely in place. High density hydraulic vises provide precision that can significantly reduce errors, increase productivity, and relieve workers of having to perform repetitive motions.

Selecting the correct vise involves considerations such as work type, machine size, cycle time, production size, and material type and size. View our Workholding Selection Guide to learn more about how to the hydraulic vise for your application or contact us for more information.

Hydraulic Vises for High Density Machining Applications

Kurt Workholding offers space-saving hydraulic vises that are high density and designed to neutralize the bending pressure against the center of the vise. Our hydraulic vises feature a center jaw plate with two clamping stations, and a quick-change jaw feature with fewer components for easier and faster changeovers. Our HDHL hydraulic vises also have an adjustable jaw design to provide faster loading times.

Our high density hydraulic vises are operated by a hydraulic pump that provides constant and reliable pressure when operating the workholding vises. Choose from motorized, hand-operated, toggle switch-operated or footswitch-operated hydraulic pumps that can be used with any of our hydraulic vises.

4” and 6” HDHL Hydraulic Vise Features

  • 80,000 PSI ductile iron body featuring steel components
  • Choice of three jaw kit options with jaws indexable to 180 degrees
  • Two clamping stations delivering repeatability to 0.0002”
  • Center holding block allows for clamping of same or dissimilar sized workpieces
