Minneapolis,
Minnesota: Kurt's HD CarvLock manual and hydraulic towers
feature quick-change machinable jaws that mount on a ductile iron
base. These towers provide strength, rigidity and long term accuracy
and are ideal for the full range of horizontal machining centers
including the smallest versions. Because of their compact size,
they also work well on vertical machines that are equipped with
indexers.
Clamping stations on the manual tower model produce approximately
5556 lbs. of clamping force at 70 ft lbs. of torque with repeatable
clamping to .001 inches. The hydraulic model produces up to 7800
lbs. of clamping force. Both models are easily converted from manual
to hydraulic or vise versa. For the hydraulic version, all hydraulic
components are housed within the vise and tower body to conserve
valuable space on the machine table.
As the most compact, high density vise tower system introduced to date, the HD CarvLock manual tower model is just 16.875 inches high (428.62 mm) and comes on 300, 400, 500 or 630 mm bases. These small footprints reduce spindle travel, part to part, maximizing throughput without compromising holding accuracy.
Additional features include: adjustable preloaded movable jaw for fast part loading on the manual version, fast and easy jaw removal, enclosed vise body keeps out chips and contaminants -- makes cleanup fast and easy.
Both manual and hydraulic Kurt HD CarvLock towers come with quick change, machinable jaw block system that includes four sets of 7075 T-6 aluminum jaw blocks or four sets of ductile iron jaw blocks (1.73 inch standard thickness, 2.50 inch optional thickness and a fixture plate). |
